Dear Colleague,
I am pleased to invite you to participate in the Dialogue on Race & Healthcare series—a space intentionally created for healthcare professionals to come together in learning, reflection, and growth.
Social Drivers of Health (SDOH, deeply influenced by Racism continues to shape health outcomes, access to care, trust, and lived experiences within our communities. As healthcare leaders, clinicians, educators, and advocates, we are uniquely positioned—and called—to better understand these impacts and to strengthen our skills in addressing them thoughtfully, courageously, and effectively.
This dialogue series offers an opportunity to engage alongside interprofessional colleagues on a shared journey of personal and professional discovery. Through guided conversation, shared perspectives, and practical insights, participants will deepen their understanding of how racism influences health and explore actionable ways to personally foster more equitable, compassionate, and inclusive care environments.
Whether you are early in your learning or have been engaged in this work for years, your voice, experience, and presence matter. Meaningful change begins with conversation—and with our willingness to listen, reflect, and grow together.
I hope you will consider joining us on Thursday evenings beginning February 19th. Feel free to share the invitation with colleagues from across disciplines and organizations to participate in this important work. If you have questions, please reach out the facilitators for this program: coletta.barrett@selu.edu or karen.estela@fmolhs.org.
